Working for a sustainable future

We are committed to preserving our planet and contributing to a more sustainable future. We consider environmental protection as a fundamental responsibility, and are committed to acting responsibly and proactively. Our environmental commitments reflect this determination and our constant concern to minimize our environmental footprint. Here’s how we translate these commitments into concrete action.

ISO 14001 certification: a concrete commitment

As part of our commitment to the environment, we are proud to announce that we have recently obtained the ISO 14001 certification. This certification demonstrates our commitment to environmental protection, compliance with environmental regulations, waste reduction, responsible resource management, and continuous improvement of our environmental practices. It reinforces our determination to achieve ambitious environmental targets and to contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable future.

Regulatory compliance: meeting the most stringent standards

Regulatory compliance is the foundation of our environmental practices. We are committed to complying with all applicable environmental laws, regulations and standards in all our activities. This ensures that our operations do not harm the environment or the community around us.

Controlling consumption

Controlling consumption

Controlling our consumption is a priority. We are constantly looking for ways to optimize our use of resources, whether energy, water or any other material. This enables us to reduce our costs, lessen our environmental footprint, and contribute to sustainability. The installation of a 3,000 m2 photovoltaic power plant is proof of our constant desire to control our energy consumption. With a maximum power output of 300 kW peak. The facility is designed to produce 411 MW/hour of electricity per year, reducing Vieux-Bourg’s CO2 emissions by 46 tonnes per year. Thanks to a self-generation rate of 27% and a self-consumption rate of 80%, a large proportion of the energy produced is used directly on site, thereby contributing to local energy efficiency. Any surplus will be consumed on the Vieux-Bourg site, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability and clean energy.

Discharge management

Discharge management

Discharge management is essential to minimize our environmental impact. We are committed to monitoring and reducing the emissions and waste we generate. This ensures that our activities do not harm the air, water or soil, and that we play an active role in preserving our ecosystem. We distinguish between 3 types of waste: o Discharges into the air: smoke, mist o Aqueous discharges: wastewater, o Proximity nuisances: noise, vibration, light All these discharges are checked by means of a periodic regulatory inspection.

Controlling our waste (by declaring quantities to the government)

Industrial activities: Special Industrial Waste (SIW), Common Industrial Waste (CIW), products and materials. We have put in place several initiatives such as recycling office paper, paper cups, batteries and used ink cartridges. Thanks to these eco-gestures, we can reduce this environmental impact. Today, we are proud to present the certificate that testifies to this daily commitment.

Two ICPE production sites

Two ICPE production sites

Our two production sites are classified as ICPE (Installation Classified for the Protection of the Environment) and are subject to regular monitoring to ensure compliance with current environmental regulations:

  • Forécreu’s LA BRANDE site: subject to registration – on the installed electrical power sections (prefectoral decree No. 1615/2020 of June 26, 2020)
  • Forécreu’s VIEUX-BOURG site: subject to declaration with control – concerns (prefectoral decree No. 765 BIS of March 16, 2020. Use of chemicals

CSR : going beyond obligations

We go beyond legal requirements by adopting a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) approach. This means that we take social and environmental concerns into account in all our decisions. We seek to maximize benefits for our stakeholders, minimize negative impacts and contribute positively to society. We have identified five pillars: strategic development, social HR, innovation service product development, production & environment, ecosystem & local integration. This approach was initiated in 2023. The Forécreu Management Committee also took part in a “Fresque du Climat” training program, which is a way of raising awareness and standardizing knowledge of the CSR approach within companies.

As part of this approach, we select suppliers who have an interest in preserving the use of resources, and we carry out regular supplier audits to ensure that their products comply with our CSR commitments.

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. We are accepting our share of responsibility by actively participating in the fight against climate change. This means reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, adopting eco-friendly practices, and promoting awareness of the importance of reducing emissions.
