Tool bodies are subjected to different stresses during use. The materials used for tool body hole bars must meet the following requirements: machinability, grindability and toughness. For this purpose, Forécreu uses special steels known for their exceptional hardness, wear resistance, resistance to thermal fatigue, high-speed operation, etc. This type of material reduces grinding costs and improves tool body life.

Control tests are regularly carried out in our laboratory to perfect our hole-bar solutions for tool bodies (tensile tests and metallurgical tests). Quality and geometry checks are also carried out throughout the manufacturing chain.

Hole bars for carbide-head tool bodies

Our oil-hole bars for carbide-head tool bodies are supplied with straight or twisted holes to meet your specifications. They are available in 3 geometries to suit all types of tool bodies, i.e. 3 positions and diameters of holes in the bar.

  • Standard geometry: optimized hole diameter and spacing for the most common tools
  • Geometry reduced to 80% of standard dimensions: slightly reduced hole diameter and spacing for slight oversize shanks (e.g. DIN 6535 standard shanks).
  • Geometry reduced to 65% of standard dimensions: drastically reduced hole diameters and center distances to enable the production of one-piece tool bodies.
